Ok I was out at the beach this weekend at a friends house and there is a fresh water spring in the bay that is maybe one hundred feet from his house. And what do I see but 2 manattees out playing in the water so I wanted to jump right in and see them found out that it was some kind of shark mating season right now. But my friend was skinnier and tanner so i figured they would mistake him as a seal first before me. LOL So in we went while we did not get to touch them after hanging out for a few minutes and floating so they would get comfortable with us being in the water. Then they began sticking there heads up to check us out. However everytime we would try to touch them they would take off and dive down. However, they would always come back and they even talked to us a couple of times. I think in the end they thought we were playing with them. It was a beautiful time and I thought I would share it all with you.

Extremely cool!
I saw my first real live manatee last year while I was fishing in Tampa Bay. He came up right behind the boat and blew water at us. Scared the bejeebies out of me . . . . . and the fish, but it was fun anyway.
