Greetings friends! Drauglin has recently offered me a place in the ranks of Oromë's Army. I've read some of the forum postings here and have gained a better understanding of the people that make up this army. With this understanding, I have decided to enlist. I thought it would be appropriate to provide information about myself, so that you may get to know the man behind the pixels.
My real name is Owen and I don't mind if you address me as such. I am 24 years old and I live in Missouri. I don't have any children, but I do have a spoiled rotten Pug who doesn't know that she is a dog. The majority of my time not spent working is spent with my dog or online. Also, when I can manage to get all my friends together, I become a dungeon master (Dungeons and Dragons[TM], not S&M). Say what you will, I don't care and I have a good time with it.
My very first MMO was Star Wars Galaxies. I really like that one, but I had to stop when it interfered with my studies. Then, I discovered MEO in the works. For those not 'in-the-know,' MEO is Middle Earth Online, the original title of this game. I trolled the forums for a bit and found some friends that I kept in touch with there for a year. Game release was still three years out at that time. One of those friends introduced me to WoW. Fortunately for me, I had those friends to play with and didn't have to put up with the general population of idiots that plague that game. I played WoW for three years and got to know many people that I still talk to from time to time.
I took a break from WoW to join my friends in City of Heroes. I really like that one for the character customization, but the gameplay is a little lacking for me. The absence of the l33t equipment grind was also a plus for that one.
After CoH, I just couldn't get back into WoW, so I canceled my account there for now. That's when I decided to check out LOTRO again. I had played in beta, but couldn't get into it without some major changes. Fortunately for me, those changes have been made and I find the play much more enjoyable. I was sad to find that my old friends don't play anymore. I do enjoy making new friends and I think I've found some right here!
You'll find that my play style is fits with my chosen class (minstrel). I've always played a healer/party supporter in some form or other. I'm a generous guy and I don't ask for much. You won't find me to be very needy. I've been told that I'll be the littlest member for a while and that doesn't bother me. I don't want anyone to walk me through this and therefore don't expect/demand high levels to take me here or there to complete this and that.
Andelas is the first toon I've made. He's an elf hunter. I like playing a ranged nuker class when not playing a healer. My current 'main' toon is Forimli, a Dwarf Minstrel. I don't know what it is about healing and party support, but I just can't get away from it no matter how hard I try.
My personality is always friendly and helpful. I won't be much help until I get more established and my knowledge base expands more. I will be asking questions every now and then, so I apologize now for my noobness.
I look forward to getting to know you all better and I know we will have many good times ahead.
